I had the recent privilege to carry Paul Beyer’s PAR Tag in the 3rd Annual Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. I read a little about Paul before the climb. It was eerie how similar the two of our history’s are. I felt a great responsibility to honor Paul with bringing his name to the top of those 110 floors. Once I attached his tag to the PAR board, I almost didn’t want to let it or him go. But, we all gotta get back on the rig and go to work. I think that’s what he would’ve done. I was privileged and humbled to be assigned a fellow firefighter that surrendered his life in the line of duty on 9-11-01. I will not forget the feeling of that event or the sacrifices of so many. Thank you Paul. God speed!
