Firefighter Donald Regan

277 Regan fb

Firefighter Donald Regan, 47, had four children and he went to all their games. If they played on the same day (which was not infrequent), he would catch at least one inning of each game. When they grew older and moved away from home, the local postmaster in Pine Bush, NY, knew him well because every week Regan mailed each of his kids a package or a letter.
This 17-year FDNY veteran was known as a remarkably deep sleeper. At the firehouse he slept in the kitchen to be nearer the alarm so he could wake up when it rang. On the job he was considered fearless by his fellow firefighters and received several citations and a medal for bravery during his long career.
